Important Biosecurity Notice
Western Australia (WA) and Tasmania (TAS) have some of the strictest biosecurity regulations in Australia. These laws are designed to protect local ecosystems, agriculture, and native wildlife.
Because of this, Beyond Pets is unable to ship certain products to WA and TAS, even if those products are available for delivery to other states.
Products Restricted From Shipping to WA & TAS
Due to biosecurity laws, the following product types cannot be shipped to WA or TAS, including but not limited to:
Live Products
- Live animals
- Live insects and live food (including crickets, mealworms, woodies, worms, and similar)
Natural & Organic Products
- Some natural treats and chews
- Raw, air-dried, or minimally processed animal products
- Certain plant-based or organic items
Bedding, Substrates & Natural Materials
- Some bedding and substrate materials
- Natural soils, sands, woods, and plant matter
- Certain natural aquarium or reptile décor items
Please note that restrictions may change without notice in line with state regulations.
How Restrictions Are Applied
Restricted products are managed in one or more of the following ways:
- Clearly stated on the product page, or
- Automatically restricted at checkout once a WA or TAS delivery address is entered
If an order is placed containing restricted items for WA or TAS:
Our team will contact you as soon as possible and a refund or suitable alternative will be arranged
In-Store & Local Availability
Some restricted products may still be available:
For in-store purchase at our Queensland location, or
Through approved local arrangements where permitted by law
If you are planning to visit or organise local pickup, please contact us beforehand.
Not Sure Before Ordering?
If you’re unsure whether an item can be shipped to WA or TAS, we strongly recommend contacting us before placing your order. Our friendly team is always happy to help clarify what can and can’t be sent to your location.
Why These Restrictions Exist
These restrictions are not set by Beyond Pets. They are enforced under state biosecurity and quarantine laws, and non-compliance can result in significant penalties for both businesses and customers.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping protect Australia’s unique environment.
