Continuum Coral Cleaner & Dip Standard Strength 125ml

Medtec Coral Cleaner & Dip is a much more gentle cleaner and acclimation dip than many other dips, yet it is very effective. It is a prophylactic cleaner, conditioner, and will assist in acclimating corals to their new environment. It is safe for dipping soft and stony corals, anemones, mushrooms and zoas. It is great for cleaning coral facilities or tanks as a wipe down or soak between uses.

Tips for use:

Use of a snow white bucket, or placing a paper towel below a clear dip container will allow much better inspection of the corals or frags. It is recommended that you place newly acquired corals into a quarantine holding tank immediately after dipping to allow for further inspection prior to adding them into your aquarium.

Directions:

Shake well immediately before use! Wear rubber gloves & eye protection when using! Remove 1/2 gallon of aquarium saltwater from the aquarium that will house your new corals and place in a large plastic bucket or bowl. Add 20 ml (4 capfuls) of MedTec Coral Cleaner & Dip concentrate from this bottle. Place a powerhead or air stone in the container to circulate the water gently. Add your new corals and dip for 5 to 10 minutes (absolute maximum 15 minutes). Prior to and during dipping, inspect corals for signs of parasite eggs. Dip will not remove eggs without pressure. If found, gently blot and mechanically brush them off with a dry paper towel. During dipping, using a syringe or turkey baster to blow dip forcefully against coral between branches and in crevices will greatly improve dip cleaning efficiency. Discard Dip. Dip may become toxic to corals if re-used.

Not for use directly in aquariums, for use as a dip for new live corals or cleaner for empty systems only!!! Consult our website or an appropriate reference source for cleaning and acclimation of new corals of the species you are adding.

Coral Elements.N vitamin and mineral micronutrient complex replaces crucial minor and trace minerals lost to carbon filtration, protein skimming and ozone and provides essential vitamins for growth of live corals and other invertebrates. It contains no heavy metals, phosphates, silicates, gluconates, or polygluconates.

Use in aquarium keeping:

Corals acquire vitamins and minerals directly from the surrounding seawater, as well as from ingested food. Regular addition of Coral Elements.N vitamin and mineral micronutrient complex provides for availability of these nutrients. Minerals influence the coloration of all marine species including corals and clams and are important in many of the chemical reactions that take place in living tissues. In addition to Coral Elements.N, we recommend that you also use Coral Exponential to provide needed amino acids for coral tissue growth. The hobbyist should pay close attention to the alkalinity, or KH of the system and closely monitor the calcium, magnesium and strontium levels. Continuum recommends that you maintain a calcium level of between 410 and 450 mg/L (ppm), an alkalinity level of 7 to 11 dKH (2.5 to 4 meq/L), and a magnesium level of 1250 to 1350 mg/L (ppm). Note: Aquarists keeping SPS corals should consider keeping alkalinity at 7 to no more than 9 dKH (2.5 to 3.21 meq/L).

Directions:

Shake well prior to use. Add 1 capful (5 ml) per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water 1 to 2 times per week.

Expert use:

Dosing through use of a drip system is a superior method of addition. Do not mix with buffers or alkalinity supplements prior to addition. You may mix it with strontium, magnesium, and many other supplements. See our website for compatibility of supplements. It is not possible, with current test kits, to measure the exact dosage of Coral Elements.N vitamin and trace minerals to add, so to dose, simply add the above amount to the doser. In other words, add 1 capful to the amount of solution that the doser will add in 2 to 4 days per 50 US-gallons (200 L) of marine aquarium water.
